What is yarn-dyed fabric, and how is it different from printed fabric?
In yarn-dyed fabric the cotton yarns are dyed in the required colours before weaving, so the pattern is created on the loom itself rather than applied to the surface. A yarn-dyed jacquard therefore shows the design on both faces (reversed on the reverse face), while a printed towel carries the artwork on the front only, with a white reverse.
Are the colours fast - will they fade or bleed?
Our yarn-dyed cotton is dyed with reactive dyes and meets export environmental standards, with good colour fastness in normal washing. For high-contrast combinations, note that very dark trims such as navy piping can show some colour transfer under repeated intensive washing, so we recommend light trims or a pre-shipment wash validation - share the washing standard your market requires (washing, rubbing, perspiration) and we will confirm the applicable test scope with QC before production.
What does the fabric feel like, and which yarn counts and weights are available?
We weave combed ring-spun cotton in 16s, 21s/2 and 32s/2 yarn counts — 32s/2 for a finer, smoother hand feel and 16s for a thicker, plusher surface. Weights range from about 400 GSM for beach towels to about 600 GSM for heavy terry, and terry, velour and jacquard surfaces can be combined in one piece.
Does it pill or shed lint?
Combed ring-spun cotton with controlled weaving and finishing keeps pilling and fibre shedding low, and our production standards reference anti-pilling, anti-fraying and low-lint performance. As results depend on construction, GSM and test method, send us the acceptance items your buyer requires (pilling grade, linting, wash durability) and we will confirm what can be covered before the order.
How much will it shrink after washing?
Expect around 5-6% shrinkage on cotton terry fabric under normal washing conditions, and up to about 8% on heavier constructions. We do not pre-shrink, but we can enlarge production dimensions to compensate. On request, we can also measure and record the dimensions before shipping, allowing you to compare them after your own wash test.
Can you match my colours, and how many colours can one design use?
Custom dyeing is standard and virtually any colour in the Pantone C guide can be dyed - send us your colour code and we will prepare dyed yarn samples (about 3-5 days) and physical swatches for approval before the loom is set up. Please allow for slight shade variation between the swatch and the finished fabric, and note that a maximum of 3 colours can be woven into one yarn-dyed design.
What is your MOQ for yarn-dyed products?
MOQ is calculated per design and per size: typically 100 pcs for bath towels, 300 pcs for face towels and 500 pcs for small towels, with yarn-dyed jacquard at 100-300 pcs per size per design and yarn-dyed bathrobes at 100 pcs per design. Yarn dyeing also carries a minimum of about 30 kg per colour, so tell us your target sizes and designs and we will confirm the exact MOQ for each line.
How long do sampling and production take?
Yarn dyeing takes about 15 days before weaving can begin; a 2-colour yarn-dyed jacquard then runs in roughly 20 days, and a full yarn-dyed jacquard towel programme in 30-32 days including washing, drying, sewing and inspection. Fully custom samples take about 25-28 days, existing samples ship within 1-2 days, and public holidays such as National Day (1-7 October) are additional.
How should yarn-dyed towels and robes be washed and cared for?
Wash below 40°C with a cycle of no more than about 20 minutes using a neutral detergent free of chlorine, fluorescent brighteners or whitening additives - this protects the colours, limits shrinkage and avoids fibre damage - and use a hydrophilic softener if needed, drying at medium or gentle heat. If your programme runs hotter, as commercial laundry often does, share your exact protocol before the order so we can confirm the construction and validate it with a wash test.
Which applications are yarn-dyed fabrics best suited to?
Yarn-dyed constructions suit beach, pool, gym and spa towels, hotel and resort programmes, home textiles, retail and gift collections, and matching accessory sets such as hair wraps and headbands in the same fabric and colours. Yarn-dyed jacquard is the better choice when the design must appear on both faces or when lettering and relief logos should be woven into the fabric, and we also produce to your own artwork.
Which yarn-dyed towel construction do you recommend for each use?
For hotel and resort programs, we recommend cotton terry in 400-600 GSM with woven yarn-dyed borders or logo bands, allowing the design and colors to show clearly on both faces. For beach and pool use, 400 GSM jacquard with a large woven motif provides a clear pattern on both sides, while gym and spa programs work well with 2-color stripes in 21s/2 or 32s/2. For spa, retail and gift ranges, matching sets such as hair wraps and headbands can also be woven in the same fabric and colors.
What is your sample service?
Existing samples of our current items can usually be dispatched within 1-2 days, free of charge with freight collected by your account, so you can check the hand feel and construction before ordering. Fully customised samples follow the same dyeing, weaving and finishing route as bulk production and take about 25 days, which makes them representative of the final goods.
Do you support OEM/ODM and production from our own design?
Yes - we produce to your own artwork and specification, from pattern and logo development through to size, fit, collar, pocket and trim details. Depending on the look and quantity, designs can be executed as printing, yarn-dyed jacquard, embroidery or woven relief logos.
Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
We are a direct manufacturer with more than 21 years of experience in cotton towels, bathrobes and bedding, and we handle our own weaving, sewing and final inspection in-house. Yarn dyeing and washing/dyeing take place at our partner dyehouse, while the remaining production steps run in our own factory.
Which certifications do you hold?
We hold OEKO-TEX and ISO certification; our OEKO-TEX coverage applies to white and dyed fabrics, while accessories and labels fall outside that scope. If your market requires a specific standard such as REACH or GOTS, tell us the requirement and we will confirm the applicable test scope with our QC team before the order.
How do you control quality before shipment?
Goods are inspected at each production stage - weaving, dyeing and sewing - and the finished items are checked against the agreed specification before packing, including anti-pilling, anti-fraying and low-lint performance. On request we will record the measured dimensions before shipping so you can compare them against your own checks after receipt, and you are welcome to arrange a third-party inspection before the goods leave us.
What is your production lead time?
Solid and 1-colour jacquard programmes run in about 10 days, while a 2-colour yarn-dyed jacquard takes roughly 20 days and a full yarn-dyed jacquard towel programme 30-32 days, since the yarn must be dyed before weaving. Public holidays such as China's National Day (1-7 October) are additional to these timelines, and we confirm a schedule for your order before production starts.
How are orders shipped and delivered?
Shipment is arranged after our pre-shipment inspection and dimension records, and the shipping method and terms are confirmed with you before production according to your destination and order volume. Samples are normally sent by express with freight collected, so you can receive and test them quickly.
What services do you provide beyond manufacturing?
We support colour matching to Pantone, dyed yarn and fabric swatch development, and design development from your artwork or files, as well as matching accessory sets such as hair wraps and headbands in the same fabric and colours. During production we keep you updated on progress and can share photos or video of the goods so you can follow your order.
Can you add our logo on the towel?
Yes - we offer embroidered, printed and embossed logos, and your logo can also be added to the packing for a fully branded presentation. Our professional design team supports you throughout: send us your artwork, or simply describe your idea, and we will develop a pre-production sample for your approval before mass production.
